Crowns / Veneers on Front Teeth
Crowns and veneers are among the fastest ways to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. They can be used to improve the shade, shape, size, position, and overall appearance of the front teeth and, when appropriate, can also help improve or adjust the bite. Treatment is often completed within approximately 2 weeks and may require as few as 2 appointments.
Crowns: A crown covers the entire visible portion of the tooth, giving it greater retention and strength. Well-maintained dental crowns can commonly last 15 years or longer, although longevity varies depending on your bite, oral hygiene, habits, and the condition of the underlying tooth. Smile Center crowns also come with our 2-Year Smile Center Guarantee, subject to the terms of the guarantee.
Veneers: Veneers are thinner restorations that primarily cover the front and biting surface of the tooth. Because they require less coverage, they can sometimes provide a thinner and more translucent, natural-looking result.
Crowns vs. Veneers: Crowns generally provide greater retention because they surround more of the tooth and may be preferred when additional strength or bite correction is needed. Veneers preserve more natural tooth structure and may provide excellent cosmetic results when the tooth and bite are appropriate.
Not everyone is a candidate for veneers. Patients with significant tooth damage, large fillings, heavy grinding, certain bite problems, or insufficient enamel may be better candidates for crowns. Your dentist will evaluate your teeth and bite and recommend the option most appropriate for your smile.
